I get it Max. I had a epiphany a few weeks ago that I might be addicted to writing on Medium. The way it’s designed is like a hamster sucking on little bottles filled with coke. The buzz…the little bell at the top of your home page. Claps, responses—little bursts of dopamine. The money, nice but not much really considering all the hours put in. Then, I stepped back for 2 weeks. No writing. Let things settle. Recharged my energy. Gave my brain a much needed rest. Came back fresh. Addiction? Who knows. Maybe I wasn’t addicted, maybe it’s something else. However, my deeper realization is—it’s about the love of writing. That’s addicting. You love it. I love it. We’re in this because it’s our Dharma, our purpose in life. You have a unique talent. You’re expressing it and you are being of service to others. Your Dharma is being fulfilled. The money doesn’t matter. You write because you love it. I write because I love it. We get burned out sometimes. We need to take care of ourselves and notice when we need a break. Take care my friend and keep writing!
